Along with the towns of Huddersfield in UK, and Biella in Italy, the “Bishu” region in Japan is known as one of the three major woolen textile centers in the world. The name “Bishu” is commonly used to refer to this region which lies across the northwest of Aichi prefecture and the southwest of Gifu prefecture. Our company is here in the City of Tsushima, Aichi, in the southern end of the Bishu region. This place is renowned for being the birthplace of Japanese woolen textiles. Just like in the old days, the weaving machines in the Yamaei Keori factory are in operation today alongside textile workers, beating their somewhat nostalgic rhythms.
Founded in 1915, Yamaei Keori accomplished the task of producing the woven fabric for dark formal suits for the first time in the world. Since then, our array of materials have been highly regarded both in domestic and overseas markets and are in high demand from many of the world's leading international fashion houses. Our meticulous art of weaving has been honed in the field where the quality of plain, solid-color material makes all the difference. From the choice of raw wool to the final stage, our utmost care can always be seen in every detail, such as strands of yarn, colors, patterns, weaves and texture of the textiles.
Today, we are working on making new materials for the current market of remarkably diverse clothing, interweaving the spirit of the age and inspirational ideas of the time.
